Golden Gloves delivers a KO streak – four shows in under 90 days

Golden Gloves has once again proven why it’s a powerhouse in the world of boxing promotions. In a remarkable stretch of less than 90 days, the promotion will roll out four high-impact events, showcasing a blend of world champions, rising stars, and hungry prospects.
From world title clashes to developmental bouts, the calendar is packed with action, drama, and talent.
May 31 – World title fireworks at Emperors Palace
The campaign kicks off with a bang on May 31, headlined by the IBO super welterweight world championship between Uisma Lima and South Africa’s own Shervantaigh Koopman. This high-stakes bout sets the tone for the season.
Also on the card:
● Samuel Salva (Phi) vs Siya Kuse (RSA) in a 10-round international minimumweight showdown.
● Juan Alberts, the undefeated heavyweight prospect, returns for an eight-rounder against Brazilian champion Mateus Munhoz Matias Da Penha .
● Local clashes include Darrin Rossouw in a middleweight bout, Sanele Sogcwayi boxing at featherweight, and a female strawweight bout between Tyla Promnick and debutant Zanele Masilela.
July 3 – Thysse headlines a stacked card
Just over a month later, Golden Gloves returns with another stellar lineup at Emperors:
● Bryan Thysse vs Michael Head in the 12-round “Rising Titans” main event, which doubles as the SA light heavyweight championship.
● Beaven Sibanda fights Richard Garde for the IBF International title.
● Rising star Charlton Malajika battles RV Daniega for the IBO Youth bantamweight title.
● Plus Dean Promnick, Sogcwayi and Seth van Aswegen.
July 17 – Siya Kuse returns
Siya Kuse, fresh off his May 31 bout, will return to face Joey Canoy in what promises to be a pivotal fight in his international career for the WBC Silver belt and final WBC championship eliminator. Kuse’s activity and ambition are a testament to Golden Gloves’ commitment to building stars.
● Also featured: Tuvia Wewege, Carl van Blerk and Keanu Koopman.
August 9 – Women’s Day spectacular
Capping off the run is a Women’s Day celebration, headlined by:
● Ricardo Malajika vs Jayson Mama for the IBO title in a 12-round clash.
● Tyla Promnick will also be back in action, alongside Cayleigh Swart, Saarrah Karriem, Dylan Prosser and Alberts, continuing his relentless campaign with an anticipated WBC Youth title crack.
● Fan-favourite Rourke Knapp also boxes in an eight-rounder, against Jhun Rick Carcedo.
This four-show sprint, which precedes additional Golden Gloves action in October and November, will not only keep fans on the edge of their seats but also provide a platform for champions, contenders, and prospects alike.
With momentum like this, the future looks bright (and brutal) in the best way possible.
