Bedeman picks Fourie to beat Joubert
Jason Bedeman, who has fought both Grant Fourie and Warren Joubert, is picking Fourie to do the double when he fights Joubert in their rematch on March 19.
“I’d love a rematch with either,” said Bedeman, who is just 26. “When I fought Grant he was a much better boxer. Warren was very lucky against me. He doesn’t hit hard . . . Grant has nothing to worry about. I reckon Grant wins it, hands down.”
Fourie was stopped in the 10th round by Bedeman in 2009. More recently, Joubert beat Bedeman on points over eight rounds.
Bedeman hasn’t fought since, but says he has been sounded out about a possible fight in Windhoek in April.
“I’m only 26. I’ve only had four losses in 25 fights. I reckon I’ve got quite a bit left. I need a few wins, that’s all. I’m very happy with my trainer [Manny Fernandes] and I’m feeling good.”
