Brazilian champ lined up for fast rising Juan Alberts

The education of heavyweight prospect Juan Alberts continues at pace with Brazil’s Mateus Munhoz Matias Da Penha lined up to fight him on the “Coronation” bill at Emperors Palace on May 31.
Alberts has had a busy start to his career, winning four fights in eight months, three of them by knockout.
Two weeks ago he saw off Mcheni Briton in Cape Town, dispatching him in two bruising rounds.
“He gets better with every fight,” remarked promoter Rodney Berman. “He’s a youngster who is learning quickly, so he will be brought along at the required pace.”
Da Penha (7-1-1) is the Brazilian heavyweight champion, having won the title with a KO win over Nelbe Jacundino De Souza in December.
Video of his recent fights show him to be in good condition with slick movement, although he may want to keep his hands up a little more against Juan Alberts, who can bang.
He’s lost just once – an upset against Luis Jose Marin Garcia – and, with aspirations of his own, will be looking to upset the Alberts freight train on the undercard of Shervantaigh Koopman’s IBO title bout.
