Top prospects’ line-up – it’s a go!

32tr2Eight fights guaranteeing back-to-back action featuring some of the best prospects in the local game.

In announcing the latest fight card for “Prospects at the Palace II”, Golden Gloves has stuck true to its time-honoured template of putting together fights featuring young, hungry talent.

They hardly need any introduction given that their profiles improve each time they fight. We know all about the virtues of DeeJay Kriel and Thulani Mbenge, but fighters like Laduma Lamati, Sterling Shaw, Josh Studdard and Lucky Mongebane have all proven that they are worth keeping an eye on.

Upsets are standard at these events, too, so don’t discount the B-siders, who invariably give their all with the aim of catching the eye of Rodney Berman and his staff.

One other fighter coming into the reckoning is SA welterweight champion Shaun Ness. He’s not flashy, but he’s efficient, hard-working and effective. Fans will see for themselves come July 24.
