Roux-Pretorius SA heavyweight title clash now also for ABU belt.

Juan Roux is a mere six fights into his pro career and not only is he the reigning South African champion, he will now also get the chance to add the African Boxing Union (ABU) title to his collection.
The vacant ABU belt will be on the line in Roux’s defense of his national title against “Red Beast” Josh Pretorius over 12 rounds on the 26th of March at Emperor’s Palace. The winner will become only the second South African after Ruann Visser to hold the ABU heavyweight title.
The African Boxing Union is an affiliate of the WBC and their title has often been a stepping stone into the WBC world ratings.
For Josh Pretorius, who is by far the more experienced of the two, this fight represents a huge chance at redemption. He lost his first crack at the national title when he was outboxed by Tian Fick in 2020.
Could it be second time lucky for him? Or will “Rhino” Roux continue to bulldoze the opposition?
