The light-heavyweight division is hotting up nicely, as will become evident this weekend when big puncher Artur Beterbiev fights Ezequiel Maderna in Canada.
The Premier Boxing Champions tournament will be broadcast live on SS7 from 5am.
Beterbiev, a former amateur world champion, beat current light-heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev in the amateurs and already has a perfect 9-0 record in the pros.
The Russian has beaten top opposition like Gabriel Campillo and Tavoris Cloud and is rated number four by the WBA and number two by the IBF.
Maderna is a former Olympian who will be familiar to SA fight fans, having fought Edwin Rodriguez on a Golden Gloves promotion in Monte Carlo in 2013. The Argentine also lost a close decision to Tommy Oosthuizen in 2013.
The former Olympian knows his way around the ring and could stretch Beterbiev, who is yet to hear the final bell as a pro.
