A suitably senior set of officials has been appointed to oversee next month’s IBO welterweight title fight between champion Thulani Mbenge and Miguel Vasquez of Mexico.
Experienced Tony Nyangiwe, the third man in the ring in several high-profile fights involving the like of Kevin Lerena, Moruthi Mthalane and Hekkie Budler, will referee Mbenge’s first title defence.
The judges have been pulled from three separate countries: Deon Dwarte of SA, Patrick Mukondiwa of Zimbabwe and Matteo Montella of Italy.
