Golden Gloves can confirm that local boxer Yanga Sigqibo sustained an injury during his championship fight against Ricardo Malajika at Emperors Palace last night.
After the contest, in which he was knocked out in the 11th round, he collapsed in the change room and was immediately rushed to the Arwyp Hospital, where he received top medical care.
It has since been diagnosed that Sigqibo has bleeding on the brain. While his condition is apparently not critical and he is conscious, doctors are closely monitoring him.
