“PALACE KNIGHTS” @ THE PALACE 2ND SEPTEMBER 2023
Roarke Knapp returns in September against international opponent.
Exciting junior middleweight Roarke Knapp will return to Emperor’s Palace on the 2nd of September on the card entitled “Palace Knights.”
The ten-rounder will be the co-featured bout with Ricardo Malajika’s fight for the vacant IBO junior bantamweight title against Kevin Luis Munoz of Argentina.
Knapp will be facing Polish fighter Przemyslaw Zysk who sports a respectable 18-1 record. With six knockouts among his victories, on paper at least, he does not seem to be a devastating puncher.
“Roarke Knapp had some very hard fights,” opined Golden Gloves boss Rodney Berman. “There was the Ndombassey fight, then the Thysse rematch and his last opponent, El Mousaoui was a tricky customer as well. He is entitled to an easier fight.”
Will it be easier though?
Although Zysk has mostly fought in Poland there are some familiar names on his record. He holds a win over Tomi Silvennoinen who fought Brandon Thysse in 2021. His sole fight on the road was also his only defeat. He dropped a 12-round decision in the UK to Sam Eggington in his last fight. That fight was for the vacant IBO junior middleweight world title. He is also significantly taller and rangier than Knapp.
Will Knapp be able to do what Eggington could not and stop Zysk? Or could the Polish fighter with the tongue twister first name turn out to be a banana peel on the road to stardom?
