Congratulations to Mzi Mnguni, who turns 70 today.
In 40 years of business, he has been the best partner and friend I could ever have wished for.
He was in Golden Gloves’ corner when we won our first world championship, with Welcome Ncita in 1990, and remains a special individual to us all.
A tremendous promoter in his own right, he nonetheless earned greater renown as a trainer. Mzi’s ability to spot talent is uncanny and he was responsible for nurturing great talents like Vuyani Bungu, Mbulelo Botile and Zolani Petelo.
