Top prospect V16 revs up for weekend action

Top Golden Gloves prospect Sanele Sogcwayi takes a big step up this weekend when he fights veteran Sabelo Ngebinyana at Cabo Beach Club in Cape Town.
The unbeaten featherweight (3-0) is up against experience in the shape of Ngebinyana, who has had 29 pro bouts.
Not that Rodney Berman, promoting in association with Warrior Ascent Promotions and Insane Boxing Promotions, is overly concerned.
“V16 is pivotal to Golden Gloves’ long-term ambitions,” said Berman. “He fights in Cape Town this weekend, but next year he’ll be a full-time Emperors Palace fighter. He’s one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the Eastern Cape in years. He’s just about completed his apprenticeship, having won three on the bounce. I’m excited to watch his journey.”
Sogcwayi has fast, heavy hands, and also has the sort of flashy style that enamours talented boxers to fans.
Two other Golden Gloves boxers, Dylan Prosser and Saarah Kariem, will be looking to extend their unbeaten records in Cape Town, where Cabo Beach is never less than full to bursting with expectant supporters.
