Now out – glorious treasure of SA boxing

Anyone who has attended local boxing or caught broadcasts on television will recognise the dapper elderly man with the camera working hard at ringside.

His name is Nick Lourens and he does yeoman work capturing great photographs which he distributes far and wide, chiefly through social media. His images also regularly appear on this website which gladly gives them prominence.

In a boon for the local fight game, Lourens has published a wonderful coffee table book packed with glorious action images of almost all of South Africa’s top fighters. His eye for detail is richly in evidence and he perfectly documents many of the glories (and failures) of our boxers.

Top boxing shooter Nick Lourens.

As a memento of SA boxing, there is nothing to compare. As a keepsake of the excitement delivered by our boxers, it’s a splendid portrait that deserves to be enjoyed.

“The photographs in the book are among the best I have seen in international boxing,” said promoter Rodney Berman. “Nick does tremendous work for the boxing community whom I hope support this one-of-a-kind book.”

Given the cost to produce the book, it is a limited edition available for R1600.
