Nice work by Nathan
Long-time Golden Gloves trainer Colin Nathan received his due reward on Friday night when he was named SA Trainer of the Year at a lavish event in Port Elizabeth.
The prolific cornerman, who works with Hekkie Budler, Ryno Liebenberg, DeeJay Kriel and Lerato Dlamini, among others, had another outstanding year that reflected the hard work he puts in.
“I’m very gratified,” he said from America, where he is on business before travelling to Germany for Liebenberg’s next bout. “This means the world to me.”
Dlamini, who fights for Nathan and is in the final of the Super Four, picked up the KO of the Year gong, for his savage stoppage of Sinethemba Bam in 2017.
Popular photographer James Gradidge, a regular contributor on this site, received the Media award, while fellow pictures man Nick Lourens was handed a Special Achievement honour.
